Musical Fidelity - M5si Integrated Amplifier

Enquire about this product

Say hello to Musical Fidelity's new kid on the block, the M5si.

Sitting between the excellent M3si and the world class M6si - the The M5si is a take-no-prisoners, lets get serious about this music play-back business, high end amplifier with oodles of power to spare.

How much power you ask?
How's a true 150w per channel at 8 ohms.

Of course 150 is just a number and bigger is certainly NOT always better - BUT it does give the M5si the flexibility to drive virutally any loudspeaker on the market today with ease. Certainly no bad thing if you're planning an upgrade of loud speakers in the future.

Key features include
> Amplification power of 150w per channel into 8 Ohms.
> Excellent technical performance
> Preamp output
> Unconditional stability, means it will easily drive a huge range of loudspeakers
> Wide range of useful inputs including asynchronous USB and MM phono
> Superior build quality that will stand the test of time

As mentioned above, it's not all about outright power. No sir. Power is nothing without sonic clarrity, finese and control AND when it comes to these matters of performance, the M5si is a star.

Internally the M5si is configured as two independent monoblocs with a separate preamp, but all mounted on one printed circuit board (PCB). Consequently, technical performance is virtually equal to it's bigger brother, the M6si. This means very low distortion, outstanding noise ratio and an extremely flat frequency response characteristics - very good news indeed then.

Expect an extraordinary, sweet, clear, lucid sound that will delight time and time again and will no doubt have you saying: 'just one more track'.

As an interesting aside, M5si was next in the development pipeline after Musical Fidelity's legendary Nu-Vista 800. Evidently some of the Nu-Vista 800’s subtle pcb layout solutions have found their way into the M5si. This is more good news and when you hear it, as you'll be benefiting from the direct flow-on relationship between the two. It forms part of the science behind how the M5si can project such a deep and wide stereo image with very extended bass and a crystalline top end without a trace of harshness....some would call this trickle down technology, we'll simply give a warm round of applause to the Nu-Vista 800!

Of course it's all very well to pontificate about such things, the proof, as always, is in the listening. To gain a full understanding of the performance of this exceptional amplifier requires an audition and that's where we, at Len Wallis Audio, come in. We have sound treated listening rooms with multiples of source material, playing through a selection of quality loudspeakers, so you can really give the M5si a jolly good run. Come down to the showroom at 64 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove and give the M5si an audition - you'll be glad you did...
