A quality Chinese amplifier manufacturer is Dussun – who, incidentally, make amplifiers for Mark Levinson’s Red Rose Music company. As you’d expect, they produce a range of amplifiers under their own name. These are now being imported into Australia.
The T2i is a vertical format amplifier and has an integral digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) which will make it readily adaptable – in fact ideal - to use in a computer-based sound system. It is rated at 42w x 2, and has inputs for CD, AUX and USB. This last one means that you can feed uncompressed digital music to it straight from your Windows-based computer, and enjoy a closer approach to hifi sound than you’ll get from most computer oriented, desktop sound systems. Selecting the right speaker will be part of the trick to maximizing the result, but there are plenty of speakers around that will run happily on this sort of honest power.
