Video Projection
The improvements in performance of Video Projection during the last decade are only matched by the plummeting prices. A $5,000 projector today will give performance levels better than anything available for under $20,000 only a handful of years ago. They are also smaller, and quieter.
However video projection is not for all occasions. Firstly it is important that the room is very dark, which in many cases rules out day-time watching. Bulbs have a limited life span, and are expensive. They take a little time to warm up, which can be a little off-putting is you are used to switching on your TV and getting instant results.
At the same time nothing beats the experience of watching an image on a large screen via a video projector. It tends to be ‘special event’ viewing, i.e. a movie or sporting event, but whatever the event may be, it is generally very immersive and very enjoyable.
